NVTV – Lucha Diaz (Chippewa)

Lucha DiazThis Sunday October 20th on Native Voice TV show, (Comcast Ch. 15 at 7 PM) Cihuapilli Rose Amador has Lucha Diaz (Turtle Mtn. Chippewa/Chicana) on NVTV show.

Diaz of Turtle Mt. Pembina Band of Chippewa (Belfield, North Dakota). Diaz is 4th generation of California, a mother of 2 girls and currently enrolled at San Jose State University’s Engineer department. Diaz speaks about how extremely it is important to get a higher education degree in order to live in California. Diaz is politically active to support Native American and Latino cultures.

NVTV – Good Shield Aguilar (Lakota/Pasqua Yaqui) Activist/Entertainer

On Native Voice TV show Craig Pasqua (Co-Host) has Good Shield Aguilar (Lakota/Pasqua) as a Guest. Pasqua introduces Good Shield as Native Voice TV’s writer, singer and performer of its ‘Introduction’ song – “Indigenous Soul”.

Good Shield speaks about he was made aware from his aunt (Rosie Little Thunder) about the connection of Lakota tribe to the Buffalo. Since 2002, Good Shield has been involved in ‘Buffalo Field Campaign of Montana (www.BuffaloFieldCampaign.org). He mentions that outside of the Yellowstone National Park 1,000 ‘Genetically Pure’ Buffalo are killed per year.

The Buffalo Field Campaign has been trying to pass legislation to make Genetically Pure ‘Buffalo’ as an ‘Endangered’ species (for PROTECTION) and make the Buffalo a National mammal.

Good Shield entertains with five songs which two were originals from ‘Floyd Red Crow Westerman and his own three songs.
Good Shield ends the show with his contribution song to Native Voice TV – ‘Indigenous Soul’.

Tony Redhouse is of the Navajo Nation, gives us his update of his involvement in two documentary films, ‘Death Makes Life Possible‘ (Marilyn Schlitz & Deepak Chopra) and ‘Is Your Story Making You Sick‘ (Frances Causey).

Redhouse speaks about his perspective of Spirituality as how ‘Personal Balance‘ makes harmony with all life forms throughout the Universe. He speaks about ‘Dreams‘ as a reflection of earth and the spirit world.

Redhouse finishes with his indigenous songs with instruments of simplicity.

NVTV – Billy Means – Oglala Lakota (Sioux)

Cihuapilli Rose Amador LeBeau and Craig Pasqua interviews Billy Mills (Oglala-Lakota-Sioux) a Olympic Gold medalist (1964) on Native Voice TV.

Billy Mills, an Oglala-Lakota-Sioux American Indian from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota talks about his early childhood of his parents passing, his early college days of his vision of winning the Olympic 10k Meter run and his healing his ‘Broken Wings of his Soul’ by having ‘Dream’ come true.

He continues to speak of his Non-Profit involvement of helping the youth creating their visions through their involvement in the reservations and/or urban centers.

NVTV – Gardner (Navajo/Paiute) and Fiddler (Cheyenne/Sioux)

Cihuapilli Rose Amador LeBeau (Yaqui/Mexica – HOST) and Craig Pasqua (Co-Host) interviews two guests: Lee R. Gardner (Navajo/Paiute; Job Developer and Coach) of Native TANF and Raymond Fiddler (Cheyenne/Sioux; Wood Craftsman) Mato Numpa Cedar Designs on Native Voice TV.

Gardner gives an overview of the current Native ‘Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Native – TANF) city and state locations and its TANF’s mission.

TANF began by a Congressional Act of 1996. It gives ‘Federally Recognized Tribes’ the authority to independently design, adminster and operate their own Tribal ‘TANF’ programs.

Gardner speaks of many of the Native people are having to move out of Santa Clara county due to high cost of living but in a positive light of how successes are also being lived by native people.

The second guest of the show, Raymond Fiddler speaks about his company (Mato Numpa Cedar Designs) offering the community and across other states their hand crafted and ‘Lasered’ Designs on ‘American Red Cedar and Redwood’ boxes.

Fiddler speaks his near death experience and how Native Traditional Healing saved his life. Fiddler speaks of his company working on ways to offer those who lost their family and friends ‘Monuments’.

Techicuautli Baeza (Mexica/Tiano) and Sampson T. Wolfe (Muscogee Creek Nation) on Native Voice TV.

The first guess, Baeza speaks about the meaning of the Mexica New Year and its in depth explanation of the Azetec calendar. Baeza mentions what to expect by attending the 3 day celebration.

The second guess, Sampson T. Wolfe discusses the on going struggle to release a Native American Political prisoner, Leonard Peltier (Currently has spent over 39 years in prison). Wolfe mentions how Peltier’s health is degrading due to inappropriate prison healthcare.

Wolfe finally asks for the United State citizens to write to President Obama and request him to give Leonard PeltierExecutive Clemency‘ before he leaves office.
